Are you a MSc graduate with a strong interest for data analyses and media platforms? Are you ready to improve the personalization features of a dynamic news platform? Do you have excellent analytical and programming skills? Then the position Junior Online News Data Specialist is for you!


Our client is leading international media platform with a large number of strong brands ranging from news sites, television shows, radio stations, and other online services. With their large reach, our client generates copious amounts of insightful data: the dream of any data analyst! Being one of the largest newscasters of the Netherlands, this platform plays an essential role in the functioning our society by informing its citizens.


As Junior Online News Data Specialist, you will work with this abundance of data and focus on improving the personalization features of the platform. You will also have a leading role in the development and the future of the platform, by analyzing usage patterns of the websites and mobile apps. Your work has direct and significant impact on the strategy of the organization.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Data analyses of online consumer behavior, usage of the sites and apps, and the effectiveness of new features;
  • Spotting business opportunities and come up with new analyses, models, A/B experiments and new (algorithmic) solutions;
  • You coordinate A/B tests on machine learning-driven tools;
  • Supporting data engineers in creating relevant AI driven features.


To be successful in this position, you are/have:

  • A completed Master in Mathematics, Data Science, Information Management, Statistics, Computer Science or similar;
  • 0 – 2 years of work experience in a similar position;
  • Experience with SQL;
  • Experience with Python and R is a plus;
  • A proactive and entrepreneurial attitude;
  • Able to quickly connect the dots and have strong social skills;
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
